9) One note, by itself, is not a song. Everything is completely and intimately linked to everything else. All are subject to the Sacred Law of Love.
We are not alone in this world, there are millions, even billions of other folks in this soup, right along with us. If each of us is supposed to contribute part of the melody, even one note, that would mean that we are not only connected to each other, but we need each other to create true “music”. Some of us “came in” singing, others of us “came in” with the music roaming around in our heads, goading us to find an instrument with which to bring our “music” into this plane, but we all came in with the idea of contributing something positive.
Unfortunately many of us get waylaid by injuries to the soul, or finding other things, like drugs, to occupy our energies. Some of us are lucky enough that someone we can love, or better, who can love us in our blue state, comes along and drags us out of our internal mire and sets us “right” so we can contribute our music, some are left in the mire to sink, those are the heart breakers (are there just not enough angels to go around?). I find myself wondering, at times, what if each of us could have reached our full potential, how much “time” would it have taken from the very start of it all until the orchestra sounded like pros? Not very long, I would think. And I wonder what great instruments Hashem still wishes to “bring in” that are out there caught up in their own muck? And who can be certain that theirs is not to contribute some blues into the mix?
The point, of course, is that we are all intimately connected to each other, this is so spiritually, as well as phylogenetically, as we are descended from the earliest life, the DNA strands that are in our cells are handed down not only from generation to generation, but from life form to life form. We are related to the trees, the plants, the frogs, the birds, all life. Let the music weave through you, expressing itself, expressing you, see where it takes you, for the music is life.
