A voicehearer’s path ~

God must have spent . . . . . . . . .

That song keeps reeling around in my head, partly because a young friend keeps singing it, and so it is on the repeat loop. But, unfortunately, this perception of “God” is a faulty one, as are so many perceptions we hold of that Holy Presence. First, let me point out that, in my understanding of the Presence, God is in everything and is everything that is created in this world. I point that out so that you can know that I do not perceive of God as watching over us from on high, but walking beside us, and indeed, having a spot within us, down here in the trenches helping us live these temporal lives.

That being said, understand that I do not perceive of God as showing any kind of favoritism, He/She is available to all equally. Now, that is not to say I believe that we all take advantage of this availability on an equal basis. If you want help from God, all you have to do is ask for it. It’s that simple. Well, there are a couple of other things that are quite helpful if you really want help. Turn your life toward God’s perfection, understanding that God can fill in the spaces that are incomplete in you. That in fact, God wishes to do this with everyone, not just a few. But, we were created with free will, and The One will not interfere with that, you must ask. Always, and at every turn. And you must choose to love, be caring, show compassion, as this is what the entire teachings are about, learning to care.

God has already chosen to spend time with you, that presence is at your elbow, you only need to turn to access it, it is you who need to choose to spend time with God.
