The reasons presenting themselves for calling this the Hedge are several. Aside from the implication of the backyard hedge and the simplicity of just a couple of friends getting together to exchange views there is the fact that a plurality of Herons, (one of the totems for mysticism) is a hedge. And though my own totem and Judy’s is the Swan, a plurality of swans is called a lamentation, I did not want the overriding sentiment of this blog to be that of sadness. Besides, I like herons, their medicine has worked with me from time to time, and they are quiet and mindful of their own lives more than others. That seems appropriate for those of us on this path.
I hope everyone is able to contribute occasionally. Just because I changed it to a blog is no sign I don’t want commentary, in fact, I waited quite a while, hoping that the forum would take off without my having to do the monologue thing. Since it didn’t, this seems as good an answer as any. I will not object at any time, if others wish to go back to the forum, it is still “up”, and I will not delete it unless it is neglected for a year or more.
As it is, it seems that this way, you can still give me feedback through the use of comments, and I will value those greatly!! I do love you, each and every one.

I left Christianity in my early twenties. That was over 36 years ago. My path has been one of a patchwork quilt, though if you were to ‘categorize’ me, you couldn’t.
There are many paths to enlightenment. It is such a joy to read someone who understands there was a WHOLE lot missing from the teachings of fundamental Christianity.
Emperor Constantine called for the council of Nicaea after deciding (the Roman Empire HAS NOT fallen and is very much alive today sitting on top of that hill in Vatican City) “if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em-BUT BE IN CHARGE where they removed approximately “40 books” of original text as well as editing and rephrasing 25 books of the Bible that exist today.
As a result we got religion that removed most of the IMPORTANT stuff out of our ancient teachings. Gregg Braden speaks to this topic very well on the second DVD of Louise Hay’s extended version, YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE.
